Fearfulness of Witnessing
My throat is dry; I try to swallow
My brow is wet with perspiration; I wipe it away
I open my mouth to speak; but no words come out
I close my eyes and open them, trying to blink the fears away
What was that verse? I can’t remember
I’m trembling from head to toe
I want to say “Jesus loved you enough to die for you”, but “how was your day” comes out instead
I want to tell them about Heaven and Hell; instead we talk about the weather and the latest news
“I’ll tell him next time, Lord.” I say as I’m driving home
There won’t be a next time
I get a phone call from his parents later that night
They tell me he died in a car wreck
The told me about the head on collision with the semi
And how he died on impact
“Oh God!! Why didn’t I tell him?”
Now he’s gone, and there’s no turning back
I let him go, and now he’s burning in Hell for eternity
We as true followers of Jesus Christ shouldn’t be afraid to share the Gospel with our friends, family, or even someone we don’t know.
Why?
Well, one...He told us not to fear those who can only kill the body. Matthew 10:28- “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the On who can destroy both soul and body in Hell.”
And two...God tells us to GO. Matthew 28:19-20- “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mark 16:15- “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.’”
How about it? Who will join with me to save our lost and dying generation?

man..moriah..that is so convicting. i just read more of Mind Siege by Tim LaHaye and I was really worried about humanism and everything..and then I came across the chapter Psalm 37. is that cool or what? it was telling me not to fret over evildoers..and i was like wow. another praise to some prayer requests is my cap and gown is in and I actually did order it! And I still have time to order announcements for my graduation..so yeah..that is so exciting.
your friend,
amy
testing, testing...did it work? Did I do it?
btw, I thought we weren't supposed to be afraid of the devil...
To Rachel: Yep!!! It worked!
You're right. We're not. The top portion is a little non-rhyming poem about what has happened. We natuarally become scared and frightened about what people will think or say about us so we tend to shy away from sharing the Gospel with them. But based on Matthew 10:28 we shouldn't be afraid of Satan or the world, because they can only kill the body. Not the soul.
This is amazing...and as Amy said, convicting. How often do I find myself in that same boat? Too many times.
You write wonderfully, you have talent! :)
Blessings,

I think that part of our "calling" is to live everyday as a woman or man of faith, no matter our age, no matter where we are, and who we are with. I believe that God opens our eyes to all the daily opportunities around us to follow him, and to perhaps invite others to join.

A great song is "Here I Go Again," by Casting Crowns. It's one of my (many) favorites. Have you ever heard it? The lyrics:
"Father, hear my prayer. I need the perfect words, words that he will hear and know they're straight from you. I don't know what to say; I only know it hurts to see my only friend slowly fade away...
So maybe this time I'll speak the words of life with Your fire in my eyes... But that old familiar fear keeps tearin' at my words. What am I so afraid of?
'Cause here I go again, talkin' 'bout the rain, and mullin' over things, that won't live past today. And as I dance around the truth, time is not his friend, this might be my last chance to tell him that You love him.... But here I go again... Here I go again.
Lord, You love Him so, You gave Your only Son. If he will just believe, He will never die. But how then will he know what he has never heard--Lord, he has never seen, mirrored in my life?"
You really got to hear it, if you haven't.
To Kingdom Advancer: Yes!! I have that song on CD. It's an great song.
To Suzanne Eller: Amen to that!!
It's fantastic that you are getting ideas from this paragraph as well as from our dialogue made here.
